Round 1 Silverstone, Saturday March 6th, 15 Laps
Snow arrived during the practice sessions and returned with a vengeance as the K Sports 1600 race got under way. Pole sitter Clark made a strong getaway with a clear track ahead of him. Tom Bellamy and Chris Hart led the chasers. Then, on lap three, the leader nearly blew it at Luffield. "I took my eyes off the road to check my mirrors, and suddenly I was skating wide," he reflected. Bellamy closed onto his tail, but Clark stayed calm and proceeded to drive away again to a winning margin of 25.3s. It was a masterly performance in conditions that clearly suited former rally driver David Williams, who came from 17th on the grid to finish fourth.
The snow didn't lie, but it turned the track into an aquadrome with cars spinning even on straight lines. Two went off along Pit Straight, and then sixth-placed Peter Richings glanced off the pit wall to become the third. After that, red flags came out to stop the show.

The K Sports race was led from start to finish by Peter Clark. Neil Bevan seemed to have second place sewn up until he slid wide at the hairpin and the next four cars closed up dramatically. Rounds 7a/b, Knockhill, Sunday July 25th, 15 and 12 Laps
After pole sitter David Williams messed up his start, Peter Clark took charge of the K Sports 1600's, opening up a healthy gap on Clive Woodward. JH Kelly held third, ahead of Williams, only to throw his Mallock off at Glenvargrill (sic) dropping to seventh but recovering to sixth place (Williams not Kelly - bj). The second race, position-wise was virtually a repeat with Clark (actually Mark Pierce - bj) struggling to keep his Centaur ahead of the Payne/William (sic) battle.

Round 9, Snetterton, Sunday August 22nd, 11 Laps
Michael Mallock, the grandson of the marque founder, Arthur, took a superb K-Sports victory on his debut at Snetterton. The 16-year-old rookie hadn't driven the loaned Mallock Mk18B of Chris Hart until Friday but, in only his second ever public race, defeated series leader Peter Clark to pole by 0.27s.
Both put in storming opening laps to open a gap between them and the chasing pack led by Clive Woodward and David Williams. The youngster seemed to handle the pressure from Clark's Mk27 well before the latter retired at half distance. Williams managed to outfox Woodward for second.
(Julian Carter)

Newly-crowned 1999 K Sports 1600 champion Peter Clark took a further victory, although he was shadowed throughout the contest by a challenging Chris Hart.

Ray raced to second position in the rain-soaked event after 16-year-old newcomer, Michael span out. Richard took seventh place after qualifying 16th on the grid.
Ray Mallock will race again in a Mk11 at Silverstone on October 16.
